(Bio-Bibliographies in Music, No. 12) Series (B&W photo frontispiece) "Ever since the mid-1940s when he was a recent graduate from Harvard, Daniel Pinkham has composed music at a remarkably consistent rate. His more than 300 musical compositions cover his entire career as performer and teacher, and are in part a measure of his success at securing commissions from a variety of organizations and individuals. From this it follows that Pinkham is performed widely and often, so that a bibliography of his music becomes inseparable from an accounting of the many concerts at which his works have held a featured place." This volume contains: a biography; a completely catalogue of works and a selected list of performances; a discography; a bibliography; four appendices. There's a note at the end of the preface stating that he had completed four more compositions since the text had been completed -- and he lived for almost another twenty years after its publication. .
