[Statesville, NC?]: Diocese of the Episcopal Church of North Carolina, 1870. Broadside, 9 7/8 x 4 7/8 inches, printing a plea by a resident of Statesville, North Carolina, in support of the establishment of a local "School or College for educating Boys and Young Men," proposed by the Diocese of the Episcopal Church of North Carolina , including South Carolina and Georgia," for some suitable place in western North Carolina, describing a recent tour by Rev. B.S. Bronson, representing the Diocese, who was apparently quite pleased with Statesville's prospects, and explaining the economic benefits of such a project. The proposal must have failed, as we've found no evidence of a school sponsored by the Episcopal Church in Statesville during the 19th century. Apparently not recorded on OCLC. Some foxing, but very good. (9003).
