Book condition: Good with bumped, rubbed, and slightly frayed edges and a few short tears in joints. Labels are yellowed and a few are chipped at edges. Front pastedown has former owner's address label, rear pastedown has bookseller labels of Paul Elder & Co. Pages are clean, a few are yellowed, and the last two in Volume V, immediately following the last page, are stuck together, barely affecting table of contents. Volume I has short tears in head of spine, soft hinges, and is cracked at front endsheet. Each volume has a photogravure frontispiece and color-tinted prints. Richly illustrated.
