Chipping to book cloth along spine ends and minor wear to corners and edges of boards. There is a two inch split to the book cloth along the bottom of the front hinge and a dime sized loss to the book cloth on the front cover. With numerous illustrations including a fold out view of New York from the sea (1790), several fold-outs of bridges and reservours, several color fold-outs of army regiments leaving the city during 1861, a large fold out of "Old New York - The Bouwery", and more. Several of the fold outs have closed tears and extra creases. Clean and bright. Previous owner's signature in pencil on front free endpaper. 775 pages. NY/022118.
