(no dust jacket) [clean attractive book, with just a bit of wear at base of spine, light diagonal scrape (or smudge) across spine, staining/discoloration to both pastedowns (inside front/rear covers); book comes with a custom-cut clear mylar protective cover]. One of the last novels published by this Austrian-American novelist and screenwriter prior to her emigration from Vienna to the U.S. at the outbreak of World War II. She settled in Hollywood, and had a couple of dozen writing credits, for both film and TV, over the succeeding twenty years. This particular novel was the basis for the 1946 B-movie HER SISTER'S SECRET, directed by Edgar G. Ulmer. .
