Lettering in gilt on the spine. The Galaxy was a monthly literary magazine, founded and edited by the brothers William and Francis Church. Fitts was a captain of the 114th New York Volunteers during the Civil War, who wrote numerous times about the War for The Galaxy. Near Fine binding.
