Martha appears to be an inconsequential English lady, who serves as a voice for the commons on their fears surrounding the Crimean War as well as reminiscences of everyday village life. 48 pp. Textblock has been reglued by a conservator; scattered staining to the text. Red silk moire covered flexible boards, with an illustration of a girl stamped in gilt on the front cover. Uncommon, we locate no copies on OCLC. Good binding.
