1915. Hardcover. Near Fine. Quarto measuring 9.5" x 12.5". Cloth covered stiff paper boards. Contains 70 black and white or sepia-toned gelatin silver photographs measuring between 2" x 3" and 6" x 9" with some captions on the verso. Slight fading on the pages else about near fine with fine photographs.

A photo album kept by a German with the Luftstreitkräfte, the German Air Corps, during World War I. Most of the photographs appear to have been taken by a military photographer and include official stamps on the versos. The images show planes in flight, pilots, and aerial photographs. The pilots and aviators are seen in full uniform, smiling, and preparing for action. One photo shows a group of men working with signal corps equipment. There are wonderful shots of planes flying over mountains, soldiers posing with cows on a hillside, and aerial views of castles and towns in the area.

An interesting collection of German military photography documenting the early days of the Air Corps in World War I.
