Signed and captioned in pencil by the author at bottom margin. One of Brodsky's realist pieces depicting a man in a spartan room, looking out the window at a cityscape. In the fore-ground is a table with a newspaper and pencil--presumably the man in the image is unemployed and seeking work, given that the artist is known for the social commentary present in much of his work.
