The boards are a bit warped, there is a 2" loss from the head of the backstrip, and there are occasional cracks in the text block. The preliminary leaves have subtle stains in the top edges, and one leaf has the partial remains of a bookseller's ticket. 79 plates. Retrospective of the Flemish artist, Frans Masereel (1889-1972). This book covers Masereel's artistic output from 1917 to 1931, and covers all facets of his work (drawings, woodcuts, paintings, watercolors). Number 190 in an edition of 600 numbered copies.
