Photographing in Color

  • New York: Random House (A U.S. Camera Book), 1940
By Paul Outerbridge
New York: Random House (A U.S. Camera Book), 1940. Very Good +/Very Good. The 1940 stated 1st edition of this seminal guide to technique in color photography, written and illustrated by the formidable Modernist photographer Paul Outerbridge. A solid, very presentable copy to boot. Tight and VG+ (with mild offsetting at the pastedowns) in a crisp, price-intact, VG dustjacket, with darkening --and a very thin streak of chipping-- along the spine and mild darkening to the flap-folds and the panel edges. Quarto, 15 of Outerbridge's tipped-in color plates dotting the text as well as his fold-out color chart.
