Wood-engraved frontispiece. A translation of the anonymous French text LE COMTE D'ESSEX HISTOIRE ANGLOISE, printed in Paris in 1678, and first published in English in 1680. This edition of a sensational account of Elizabeth's love life seems to be just as scarce.
