Vitriolic letter signed by three of the four full-time professors who resigned from the University of the City of New York (i.e. NYU) following the mismanagement of the institution during the first two years of its existence. After Chancellor Mathews (referred to for the first time here simply as the "'Chancellor,'" quotation marks included) mortgaged university property and generally mettled too much in internal affairs, four of the five regular members of the faculty publicly resigned.
