Baltimore: Sands & Neilson, 1835. Softcover. Very Good. Octavo. 40pp. Removed from a bound volume. Self-wrappers. Folding frontispiece engraving by J. Pennimen: "The Country-Seat of S.D. Walker, esquire." Slight toning and loosening else very good. The elaborately decorated Festival, which "could scarely have amounted to less than five thousand persons" and which included Marylanders' Whig brethren from Pennsylvania, was held at Walker's estate. A staggering number of toasts were offered to the recent Maryland elections, the Constitution, the Union, the Army and Navy, the upcoming presidential election, and so on. The Whig opposition to Martin Van Buren is cemented, and a variety of speeches, letters, and cheers sanctify the occasion. Al 29923 [4]. Sabin 1003271. Not in Eberstadt.
