New York: Life Magazine, 1936. Hardcover. Very Good. Quarto. String-tied brown paper over boards. Slightly bowed front board, bumped corner, and minor foxing thus very good. A volume made to look like a scrapbook containing facsimile letters, telegram, and other ephemera from the beginning of *Life Magazine*. Each section is divided by a band explaining the content of the letters such as "From News Company Branches as *Life* begins"; "Letters from Readers as *Life* Begins"; and "From the Advertising Profession as *Life* begins." Time Inc. acquired *Life* in 1936 and adapted the format to that of the famous photo magazine usually connected with *Life*. This appears to have been published as a marketing tool and collector's item for the new format. Scarce.
