This fishing club was formed in 1882 after Joseph Williamson of Lackawaxen bought a 1500-acre tract of land from William Holbert, and early members included many New York sportsmen.
This 1907 year book lists 55 members, including Joseph Van Vleck, Jr., who was the landscape engineer for the club. It is unrecorded.
By the 1920s, the club holdings in the northernmost stretch of the Poconos would grow to more than 4,500 acres; a fifty year history was written in 1932.
