Custis" on John Hodson's bookplate. 12mo, 256 pages, plus Notes and Index; contemporary leather binding. Martha Parke Custis, born December 31, 1777, in the Blue Room at Mount Vernon, died July 13, 1854, is the second oldest surviving daughter of John Parke Custis, son of Martha Dandridge (Washington) and her first husband, Daniel Parke Custis, and the step-granddaughter of George Washington. She married Thomas Peter in 1794. Inscription of obverse of frontis "Henrietta Hodson / 10 April 1810 / by / her brother John Hodson." A very good copy.
