unbound. very good. Group of four A.L.S.'s, 8vo. (1891-1910), various topics including, in part: April 19th, 1891 "...Here is the notice of Dr. Abbott's book, which has been rather difficult to do. If it is too long, I can easily cut it down in proof..."; June 5th 1905 "Thank you so much for your kind note - But I am so sorry you should have put off your arrangements..."; December 8th 1907 "...I am so sorry I could not come on Tuesday ...the carriage was ready ...but I waited for Downey. When he arrived by the electric train - it was too late that we felt it was no use starting..."; August 3rd 1910 "...Here is my belated letter - pre-arrived I am afraid: but the best I can do. May I have a proof, when I can perhaps improve it a little...?" All four letters are boldly signed and in very good condition.
