LONGFELLOW ALBUM. AUTOGRAPH BOOK OF A SOUTHERN BELLE

[Norfolk, Virginia], 1886. Hard Cover. Good binding. The autograph album of Lottie Moore Banks, with autographs by many of her relatives, including Lizzie Moore Winingder, and what appears to be Henry Virginius Moore, among others. Virginius served as 1st Sgt., 1st Co. H, 16th Virginia Infantry Regiment, and Lieutenant of the Norfolk Light Artillery Blues. Entries are dated between 1881-1886. With ten pages of text, comprised of poetry, whimsical 'forget-me-not' styles of greetings or farewells, and the autographs of many individuals, often dated. Chromolithographic title page, and six additional chromolithographic illustrated plates. Textblock cracked but holding at a few locations, likely from a small number of excised, presumed blank, leaves. Oblong green cloth, decorated in black and gilt, with some shipping to the gilt decorations. All edges gilt. Good binding.
