New York: Funk & Wagnalls. Very Good+ in Very Good- dj. (c.1968). First Edition. Hardcover. [a bit of wear to extremities, but generally a solid clean book; jacket has small bits of paper loss at spine corners, light soiling to rear panel, diagonal tear (internally repaired) and associated creasing at bottom right corner of rear panel]. Juvie fiction about a young college student blessed with "remarkable beauty," but who's determined to make her own way in the world rather than relying on her father's name and wealth, or on her good looks. She gets involved in a political campaign, but "rebels at the dull routine work that she is given. Then the party's handsome candidate, Richard Teller [fresh from modeling for the Ken Doll, judging from the jacket illustration] arrives from Washington to wage his campaign for the state legislature, and she begins to find the excitement she had anticipated." (Here's a little historical perspective for you: this book was published the same year that Shirley Chisholm became the first black woman to be elected a U.S. Senator.) .
