New York: K.K. Publications, Inc.. Near Fine. 1938. (Vol. 3, No. 11). Magazine. [a lovely copy with only light handling wear; original subscriber's name and address stamped neatly in upper corner of rear cover (amazing to think that at one time this went through the U.S. Mail -- it honestly appears to have barely been touched by human hands); NOTE that this item has been graded according to book-grading standards, NOT comic-book guidelines]. (cartoon drawings) Early Disney magazine, the precursor to the comic book-format "Walt Disney's Comics and Stories" (which first appeared under that title in October 1940). This issue contains these stories: "The White Goat" by Sari; "Look Before You Leap," by an uncredited author, "in Which Donald Duck Has a Few Jumpy Moments"; "Spiky the Hedgehog" by Lida, with pictures by Rojan; and "A Little Drop of Water," also uncredited. A cartoon feature, "Peter the Farm Detective," features little white boy Peter being entertained by African "savages" at a feast. The last ten pages contain comic strip reprints, including four pages of a Mickey Mouse "out west" adventure that looks to me like the work of Floyd Gottfredson. (NOTE that the crossword puzzle on page 25 has been completed in pencil. A sharp-looking copy despite a few minor internal depredations. .
