Hotel Ledger from Old Orchard Beach, Maine, 1925-1930

Portland, Maine: Loring, Short and Harmon, 1925. Hardcover. Very Good. Folio. Approximately 8.75" x 14". Half red morocco and black cloth. Approximately 150 lined ledger with pages, filled out by hand. Moderate wear but sound and very good. Ledger for an unidentified Old Orchard Beach, Maine hotel (according to provenance). The ledger is completely filled out with the names of approximately 4500 guests over the course of six years, the vast majority of them from New England, particularly Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Anecdotally, this hotel was one of the few in the town that welcomed Jewish guests. We have not examined the ledger in great detail and suspect much can be learned from further investigation.
