Solid and VG+ in its dark-green cloth, with bright gilt-design and titling along the front panel and spine. Very light scuffing to the rear panel, very light wear to the spine ends. Warm 1927 Chrsitmas inscription at the second blank endpaper, otherwise clean as could be inernally. Top-edge gilt, deckled fore-edge. "Containing 113 Plates After Photographs by the Author; with a Preface by Sir Sidney F. Harmer, Director of the British Museum (Nat. Hist.)". The high-quality gravure photographs are all captioned and complement the text beautifully. Also includes an unfolding, terry cloth-backed map tucked in at the rear pastedown ("Advancing Elephants in the Lorian Swamp").
