By Zachary Scott (subject)
N.p.: Associated Press, 1944. Vintage press photograph with bottom margin, of Zachary Scott studying a script, early in his film career. Mimeo snipe on verso dated 1944, with "NOTICE Wide World Photo" stamp, "Drama" stamp and a much later "Spokesman-Review" stamp below snipe on verso. Photograph release was to accompany a "Rosalind Shaffer Hollywood AP NEWSFEATURES story on" Scott, to appear in papers on December 30, 1944. Snipe dated 12/15/44.

The snipe makes note of Scott's breakout film (also his first), "The Mask of Dimitrios," and that he is "slated for several important roles in upcoming movies." Those movies would include a run that displayed Scott's great versatility as an actor: "Hollywood Canteen" (Delmer Daves, 1944), "The Southerner" (Jean Renoir, 1945), and "Mildred Pierce" (Michael Curtiz, 1945). Scott was able to switch from strong protagonists to the nastiest of villains to the male characters that were sensitive and vulnerable.

5.75 x 6.75 inches. Near Fine with very faint creasing.
