1920. Softcover. Good. Oblong octavo measuring 8" x 6". String-tied green paper boards. Contains 21 sepia-toned or black and white silver-gelatin photographs measuring between 1" x 1" and 2" x 3" with captions. Additionally included are 3 negatives. Good only album with chips, tears, and creasing with very good photographs with some spotting and edgewear.

A small photo album following an African-American family in the 1920s. Some of the photos are captioned with clippings from newspapers such as “this was opened with a loud bang the other morning” and “a famous soap-maker.” The images show men and women posed next to their cars, at parties, and at family homes. One photo shows a man with his car and a handwritten caption reading, “when all my dreams came true.”

A modest but nice collection of photographs showing an African-American family in the twenties.
