1986. Very Good+. Shirley Temple (Black) was a leading child film star during the Great Depression. She was Hollywood's number one box office draw between 1935 and 1938. As an adult, she served her country as U. S. Ambassador to Ghana and Czechoslovakia, as well as a diplomat for the United Nations. She was born on April 23, 1928 in Santa Monica, CA and died February 10, 2014 in Woodside, CA.
