Robbe-Grillet's eliptical, narrative-defying tale of a withdrawn French man, Jacques Doniol-Valcroze, in a strange city (Istanbul), unable to speak the language, falling in love with a mysterious woman, Francoise Brion, who shortly thereafter disappears.
Set in and shot on location in Istanbul, Turkey.
