A collection of stunning ornamental designs from this highly respected designer of French architecture. Jacques Androuet [1510 - circa 1585] is commonly referred to as Du Cerceau, from the sign on his father's Paris wine shop. According to the British Museum, he worked in Orléans, and was active in Paris from 1559. He fled from Paris around 1564 following the start of the Wars of Religion, as he was a Huguenot. He then settled in Montargis.
