Full calf, neatly rebacked in new calf with raised bands and morocco label; the upper board with arms stamped in gilt: "Spernit pericula virtus", perhaps the arms of Sir James Ramsay, 8th Baronet of Bamff.~Boards are well worn, but the rebacked copy is quite sturdy and serviceable. The first blank leaf has notes about the book in Latin, and has some scotch tape repair.~~Illustrated throughout with plates, many of them folding.~~. Very Good binding.
