New York: John W. Lovell Company, Publishers, 1886. Very good. Some dust soiling.. Social Solutions, edited by Edward Howland, sought to publish in English Jean-Baptiste André Godin's "Solutions sociales" (1871), which advocated for a radical shift towards better conditions and pay for workers. Translated by Marie Howland, it was divided into twelve semi-monthly numbers. The present example, No. 6, features six additional pieces discussing organized labor by Mrs. Imogene Fales, W.H. Holford, Edward Owen Greening, and Will D. Southworth. Two are published anonymously. Content includes: Foolish Resistance, The People's Co-operative Supply Association, Social Solutions - Dwellings and more.
