Very Good binding/Very Good dust jacket. 8vo.; in publisher's red cloth binding, slightly cocked; with the uncommon dustjacket with illustration by Eric Ravilious; the dustjacket has not been price-clipped; is has a small chip and an internal closed tear to the spine; top corner of the front panel with residue of a long-gone sticker; the endpapers are toned but there are no ownership or other marks in the book; with 34 woodcut illustrations, decorations and vignettes by Ravilious, three of which are full page, including the frontispiece. ~~Desert recounts the struggles of Malchus, a wealthy Alexandrian who becomes a hermit, is a novel by the prolific writer and poet Martin Armstrong.
