Very Good binding. 12mo.; publisher's red cloth with double rule in blind to the perimeter of the boards with titling in gilt to the upper board; complete with 19 plates; yellow endpapers; there is a previous owner name on the pastedown which has "bled" onto the endpaper; a second signature is on the title page; binding a bid shaken but holding well.~~The Second Edition, issued the year after the first. "In the Second Edition of this Work there will be found the most important alterations that have occurred in Artillery Materiel since the publication of the First Edition". This begs the question of how many alterations in Artillery Materiel happen over the course of a year.~Morgan's work was used as a textbook for Officers R. A. qualifying for promotion in "Artillery", at least at the Royal Military Repository in Woolwich where Major Morgan taught. ~~The Handbook went through a number of editions; all are uncommon in commerce.~~.
