Binding quite worn, rubbed, and bumped, with some paper loss, especially to lower board. Slightly worn; upper margins slightly trimmed, not affecting text; occasional small stains. RISM W1471.
In 2 acts to a libretto by Franz Xaver Huber, Das unterbrochene Opferfest was first performed in Vienna at the Kärntnertortheater on 14 June 1796.
"It was in Vienna that [Winter] achieved his first decisive success with Das unterbrochene Opferfest (1796) ... As Kapellmeister of a court with the high musical reputation that Munich enjoyed at the time, Winter was a well-known figure and, particularly after the success of Das unterbrochene Opferfest, a highly esteemed one ... His importance lies in the skill with which he fused his various stylistic ingredients, especially in Das unterbrochene Opferfest."
