Boards quite rubbed at corners with some brief peeling and rather ugly exposure at bottom fore-edge corner of front cover, bottom spine compartment appears to have been separated and neatly laid down at a later date; Good or better, though contents remain clean and near fine.

Uncommon treatise on the customary laws of Normandy by Jean-Baptiste Louis Ducastel (1740-1799), a local barrister who rose to prominence following the French Revolution, serving as deputy of the Seine-Inférieur department in the early 1790s. Quite uncommon in the trade and institutionally, OCLC locates three copies in the United States as of March, 2021, at Columbia, George Washington U., and Nebraska.
