St. Petersburg: Publishing House "Voskresenie, 1910. Hardcover. Near Fine. First edition. Octavo. lxxv, 224 [3] pp. Text in Russian. Frontispiece portrait of Tolstoy with tissue guard. Nicely rebound into linen-backed printed papercovered boards with leather spine label. Frontispiece tissue guard lightly foxed and linen backing faintly so, else just about fine.

A very uncommon memorial anthology for Tolstoy, likely published in the months immediately following his death in November, 1910. A publisher's introductory note states that the volume's purpose is to bring together material written in periodicals immediately following the great author's passing (fact-checked and sometimes condensed). The book includes a biographical sketch, a description of his last days, and articles by various authors. Printed at the Printing House B. M. Volf.

Valuable first-hand material regarding Russia's reaction to the loss of one of its icons.
