The Story of Washington: The National Capital [Great Cities of the Republic]

  • New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1889
By Charles Burr Todd
New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1889. Very Good. New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1889. First Edition. Octavo; publisher's pictorial cloth; xviii,416pp +4 ads.; frontis with tissue guard, plates, vignettes, and fold-out maps throughout, all present. Boards bumped at corners and rubbed along edges, with some tugging and fraying to spine ends, darkening to spine, and a few general light smudges to cloth. Spine a bit cocked. Front hinge cracking at bottom and textblock a bit shaken in binding. Early ownership inscriptions to dedication page and start of preface obscured with older correction fluid, with a few sparse marginal checks in pencil. Smells faintly of smoke. Good to Very Good overall. .
