In a dust jacket, with minor rubbing, several faint scratches, and a very discreet 1" slash to the surface of the front panel. In a green cloth covered slipcase. Second published mystery by the acclaimed author, and one of the author's few books not in the Leaphorn and Chee series.
With a custom full-page original color drawing on the half-title by Navajo artist Ernest Franklin (signed by Franklin at the foot). Hillerman and Franklin collaborated to produce a number of Hillerman/Franklin limited editions. This title is not a title that one commonly finds illustrated by Franklin, with custom editions having been done in only small numbers.
