Slightly worn; minor browning to edges; trimmed at lower margin, with slight loss of text. Der Freischütz was first performed in Berlin at the Schauspielhaus on 18 June 1821. It was a notable success and received performances throughout Germany in 1822. Loewenberg cols. 674-75.
