New York City: Louis E. Neuman, 1887. Edge wear. Light bend one corner.. A 7 1/2" x 4 3/4" used ball ticket for the Arion Grand Masquerade Ball at Metropolitan Opera House. The front depicts a jester playing a stringed instrument, perhaps a zither, with a trumpeter in the background, surrounded by vignettes of revelers completing the scene. The doors to Arion 1887. The reverse depicts a man and woman holding a banner with an image of the president of the Arion Society, it's emblem and a winged cherub breaking through the banner. Ticket number 2001. Perforated at base where ticket stub removed.
