Binding slightly worn, rubbed, and bumped. Slightly browned throughout; foxing to first leaves. Werther was first performed in Vienna at the Opéra Imperiale on 16 February 1892 under the direction of Jahn and in Paris at the Opéra-Comique on 16 January 1893 under the direction of Carvalho.
