Omegna, Italy: Stab. Lit. Fumagalli. Wraps. Very Good. N.d., circa 1890. Oblong, 25.5 by 34 cm. Unpaginated, 22 pages, 21 of which have brown tinted designs of wood turned furniture and furnishings, including etageres, magazine racks, music stands, tables, seating, hall trees and coat stands, wall hooks, mirrors and screens, trays, towel and cloth racks, etc. The furniture is vaguely of an arts and crafts, or a provincial, aesthetic. Much has a delicacy, even if the wood used might have been a sturdy oak. These aren't furnishings intended to bear a lot of weight. Yet everything has a functionality to it, while never sacrificing a decorativeness. The manufacturer was on Lago d'Orta, which had a long history as a center of wood turning. Condition: Small corner chip on front cover of wraps. Also tiny pinprick of a hole. Cover also has some foxing which isn't obtrusive. Otherwise leaves are clean with moderate age toning. The oblong brochure was folded down the middle at some point and the fold is still evident but not pronounced.
