Swinburne's Poems and Ballads: A Criticism

Rossetti endeavors to provide a "calm" and even critique of Swinburne's work following the fervid and excited reviews of many other critics. In the preface, Rossetti affirms that Swinburne is a friend but assures the reader that this in no way influences his criticism.
