Witsch & Schmitt, 1890. Light wear.. A thought provoking Aesthetic Movement influenced art for art sake piece of art designed as a cigar label for Witsch & Schmitt. A play on the oft seen long haired Oscar Wilde with his sunflower accessory as seen in one of the women's hair. Striking imagery and color. Measures Measures 5" x 8 1/4" Printed on card stock. Reverse is blank. The aesthetic movement was a late nineteenth century movement that championed pure beauty and ‘art for art's sake' emphasizing the visual and sensual qualities of art and design over practical, moral or narrative considerations.
