A female singer holds an open music book on her lap entitled "Pastorale by Musolini." A Signor Mussolini is recorded as a singer and mandolin player making his first public appearance at Covent Garden on 27 April 1773 "playing a concerto on the double mandolin and royal guitar and accompanying a young gentlewoman in song." Highfill et al., Vol. 10, p. 407.
