By ZERBE, J.S.
New York: Cupples & Leon Company, 1915. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. First edition. Illustrated with charts and schematics. Small octavo. 242pp. Pictorial brown cloth. Very good with soiling to the crown and gutters, binding a touch splayed and a bit of foxing to the pastedowns in good only dust jacket moderately soiled and toned along with small nicks, chips, and creases to the edges. An early book on aviation that states on the front of the jacket: "This work is not intended to set forth the exploits of aviators nor to give a history of the Art. It is a book of instructions intended to point out the theories of flying, as given by the pioneers... ." While copies published as part of the Every Boy's Mechanical Library (with that moniker on the front board) can be found, this edition lacks that designation and is rare with *OCLC* locating just one other copy at Stanford and that one without a jacket.
