Stoddard and Babcock, 1849. Hardcover. Good. 1849 edition, has been rebacked with new endpapers. This is two volumes in one. Brown boards may be very thinly bonded leather, and have rubbing and chipped, peeled edges. Lower corners are bumped. New cloth spine and binding are very good. Name in ink script on first original endpaper. Page edges have some stains, and rubbing on lower edge. Pages are unmarked, but many have dark age spots and foxing. Foldout map has a 2" closed tear, and is heavily foxed. Illustration plates are also heavily foxed, and have very crumbly, toned protective tissue. LO
