Brittain (1893-1970) was a VAD nurse, writer, feminist, and pacifist who became famous for her bestselling WWI memoir Testament of Youth. This sequel discusses her relationship with her close friend, novelist Winifred Holtby, who lived with Brittain's family for some years.
