Goodrich was a pioneer in western North Carolina in reviving the traditional mountain hand skills and the author of *Mountain Spun: The Crafts and People of the Southern Appalachians.* She also founded Allanstand Cottage Industries in North Carolina that promoted the revival of Appalachian handicrafts.
