Monthly newsletter of the Black Lung Association, a worker-led advocacy group that coalesced around the passage of coal mining legislation requiring mine operators to admit liability for pneumoconiosis, a chronic lung disease affecting soft-coal miners. The group's efforts led to the Black Lung Act of 1972, the first legislation specifically to provide relief for black-lung infected miners. This issue includes an article ("Take Action") by Arnold Miller, the principal figure behind the Black Lung fight.
