Hagen: Hermann Risel & Co, 1886. Very good minus.. A pun on the German for autograph book, "Sein-Album," this SCHWEINE ALBUM invites the signers to blindly draw pigs instead of write their signatures. This humorous and creative take on the much loved autograph book format encourages signers to close their eyes and draw their best pig. The owner's friends, both German and US American, have dutifully done so, resulting in some hilarious art. Between the signature/"pignature" pages are illustrative pig puns and poems. A unique and charming object. 4'' x 6.25''. Original color pictorial boards. Illustrated in black-and-white throughout. 46 leaves. Owner's name to title page, dated 1886. Some edgewear to boards, variously stabilized; spine repaired. Leaves with light edgewear and occasional small closed tears; one signature sprung. Else sound and clean.
